The Company

Launched in January 2004, inD DVD is a new independently owned British DVD label. Formed by an alliance of four established industry players, inD offers a unique home to classic and contemporary film, leading independent TV drama, and arts & entertainment documentaries.

inD draws on the vast expertise and diverse business backgrounds of its four founding partners. 3DD Entertainment, with its rich catalogue of film, TV and music programming, Red Production Company and its success in the creation of appealing and innovative drama, Lorber Media and its immense acquisitions experience and knowledge of the DVD market and Lee and Thompson with its excellent contacts and business and professional skills. The partners’ combined resources create a label that offers a rounded and collaborative approach to the UK home entertainment arena.

inD has further strengthened its foundations by teaming up with the internationally renowned Fremantle Home Entertainment. Fremantle’s role in marketing, sales and distribution allows inD’s product to have a major impact in the marketplace.

Partners

Established in 1994 and headquartered in the UK, 3DD Entertainment has made its mark as an international distributor with an excellent reputation for its music and live-event programming. Richard Lorber has earned a distinguished reputation as a leading force in US and international speciality distribution. Lorber Media, Richard’s latest venture, has formed a partnership with Koch Entertainment - the largest independent music distributor in the US - to release “intelligent entertainment” under the new Koch Lorber Films DVD label.

In 2001, Richard was awarded the Chevalier (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters), one of the principle decorations awarded by France for his contribution in bringing international cinema to the US. He has also been elected to the Board of Directors of the Film Forum in New York. Now based in Paris and New York, Richard Lo rber’s association as a partner in inD DVD marks a new phase in his third year as a strategic development and acquisitions advisor to 3DD.

Distribution

Fremantle Home Entertainment will undertake all marketing, sales and distribution activities for the label - a partnership inD is proud to have formed.

Fremantle Home Entertainment is the DVD/home video arm of Fremantle Media’s Licensing Group and is one of the UK’s leading home video distributors. Their specific experience in brand management has enabled them to achieve a high level of sales in the growing UK home video market, particularly for niche and unusual titles. inD will utilise this knowledge and expertise and is confident that all the relevant suppliers and retail outlets will be targeted appropriately.

Successful home video titles include the award-winning History of Football collection, the acclaimed World at War series and other TV hits including Pop Idol, Jamie Oliver and Men Behaving Badly. They have successfully released a diverse mix of classic and foreign films such as Cabaret and Alfred Hitchcock classics such as Rebecca, Notorious and Spellbound. Using creative marketing techniques and meticulous distribution methods Fremantle have also ensured that specialist titles such as Cinema Paradiso, Le Boucher and Rififi have received the maximum impact within the target market.

3DD and Fremantle have previously worked together, successfully releasing various titles including two David Beckham specials, paving the way for this relationship with inD. With such widespread success in handling brand labels Fremantle Home Entertainment was the natural choice to become inD’s distribution partner.
